Personnel:
Diane Monroe, violin;
Tony Miceli, vibraphone
In 2009, Monroe and Miceli discussed the idea of forming a duo. At the time, they were both eager and reluctant, due to the “limited” range of each instrument, and vast differences in production of sound, and finding a good balance between the two instruments. It took much practice and experimentation to find their ‘sound.’ But find it they did in their upcoming debut CD, Alone Together. Both artists hail from Philadelphia and draw upon their collective experiences growing up in the ‘70’s with popular music, R & B, blues, folk, jazz and classical.
